Curtis Blackwell, LAWCF founder is proud to recognize these young men for their hard work and diligence. “As an advocate for underprivileged young men in urban areas, it gives me no greater pleasure than to be able to honor these young men for what they have accomplished. The ability to perform both on and off the field and to be able to continue their education by obtaining a college scholarship is something that must be rewarded and recognized. With the assistance of the Forgotten Harvest, DTE Energy, and Adidas organizations, along with other key sponsors, we’re excited about the opportunity to provide such an excellent showcase of young men who deserve all of the accolades bestowed upon them.” says Curtis Blackwell, LAWCF co-founder.
The keynote speaker for this year’s event, New York Jet’s Pro Bowl receiver Braylon Edwards represents individuals who are dedicated and committed to the success of these young men. They are committing their time and knowledge to ensure that as the athletes head to college, they will be armed with the core life skills for success.
